This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist, supply chain management consultancy in a project based capacity.
They are seeking to add a key member of staff to the team on a consultancy basis; providing expert Supply Chain advice and supporting the Supply Chain team during the implementation and development of the SAP system to a business based in KSA. This project is due to start in January 2012 and completing approx. September 2012.
The key objectives for the role are to develop a best-in-class Material Management Organization: o Spare parts management o Strategic Sourcing o Procurement o Maintenance o Value recovery o Organization
The ideal candidate is to have led the implementation of a sustainable major spare parts optimization project in the last 3 years in the chemicals, or a related industry and of a scale similar to the project
The candidate is expected to have a skills in, and detailed working knowledge of, the following: • Key triggers for value reduction in spare parts (based on experience above) • Setting the spare parts policy including capital spares and project related spares • Use of Target Stock Models to track criticality, re-order levels and supplier lead times • What sets criticality and also have the ability to debate with senior engineers • Understanding of the constraints on lead times of a Middle Eastern location • Maintenance management systems including SAP MM and the data flows to/from the spare parts inventory system • Dealing with the 2 year spares provided with new plant • Dealing with controlling maintenance parts reservations • Tracking and valuing refurbished spares in and out of the system • Addressing structural and process drivers to deliver a long term sustainable reduction in spare parts inventory without compromising up time or safety • Change management required so working capital is recognised as an important issue
